How to create FloMASTER N-Arm Components using FloEFD

A Simulation Based Characterization Workflow The new FloMASTER V8 N-Arm component allows for multi-arm (up to 60) junctions to be modeled in a circuit.

For applications such as automotive thermostats and pump housings, multiple inlets and outlets interact with each other to produce complex pressure drop vs. flow rate relationships.

Instead of relying on the assumption that such arm pairs can be modeled as discrete parallel losses, FloEFD can be used to characterize the combined effects that each arm has on the others.

The results of such a characterization are imported into FloMASTER whereupon an N-Arm component is created.
